Hi guys!

It's been awhile! Haha, know that many people are thinking, 'What is this cheryl bok doing? Why no updates one?' Yes yes, I'm updating this right now! Haha...

It has really been quite a ride from January till now for most of us, even for all you dear members, I believe you've gone through quite abit this year. With all the different events going on, different responsibilities you all carry, with all the constant chastening and all, I'm soooo proud to see all of you at where you are today :) Like Jj whose refreshment last week was AWESOMELY DELICIOUS! Like Yuenleng's fashion sense now is WOOOOOOTS, like Jiajun now who has together with Madeline launched the clothing line which really sell DOPE stuff, like Yinghua who has finally taught other members how to do nice song sheets!!! Like Leslie who acted in our Easter Drama!!!!!! Hahaha, like Jonathan + Kenny who got into choir auditions and is now on stage every Sunday serving fervently! Like Andrew, which was his 1 year anniversay in church on Easter Weekend. Hahaha.. Like Huixian, who has stepped into the working line coming to 2 years now! Like Rowena, who has been looking better and better each week! :D Haha and not forgetting the rest, who have your individual breakthroughs that are worth appluading!

Each one of you, who is reading this right now. You have a destiny in you. You have a destiny so strong and big that you might not even be able to see it now, but I'm sure if you keep pressing in and seeking the purpose of God, you will see it in no time. But many people may think, 'Cheryl, I don't think I've a destiny leh... I can't seem to find any talent or gifts that can help me to propel to my destiny.' At the position at where you are now, the things that you're doing, or I should say, the things that you enjoy doing, or things that you want to do but don't have the faith to... Your desires are not selfish, dont always think that, "I got to do what God wants me to do, the rest of my talents and gifts, I just leave it aside." The best thing you can ever do is to mix your talents and gifts together with what God has called you to do, that is where you're maxed out to your fullest potential!

Even before the day you were formed in your mother's womb, He already knew you. But that doesn't give you a reason to just let your life unfold itself like that, God has done His job to 'unfold' your beautiful eyes, sensitive nose and ears, all the different point of your body. Do you know how many nerves it takes to form your body cells? Do you know how is your brain constructed to form your left and right brain? Do you know how your body system works that it starts replenishemnt from 11pm onwards for certain parts of your body and 2am for other parts?

Christianity is a relationship with God. A relationship takes 2 hands to clap, if only God claps and if you only keep asking God to clap, nothing's gonna work out. If God has done His part, have you done yours?

Mighty To Save -

I saw this video on youtube today and thought it would be good to post it here for you guys.

I'm sure most of you are very familar with this song, Mighty To Save by Hillsong. Written by Reuben Morgan. And we also used it before once in our own cell group meeting! Glad that most of you like this song.

But there's more to this song than just a nice rhythm or great guitar playing. It isn't just a song that just fill your ears but it is really one that is able to empower your soul. Here's a little something that I want to share about this song.

Mighty To Save, three very simple words but holds a powerful meaning. In every situations we face in our lives, frustrations we cannot handle, emotional turmoil that we feel in your hearts, sicknesses that comes once in awhile that cripples us, our God is definitely Mighty To Save.

But there is one question that we would ask God, 'Yes Lord, I know that You're Almighty, powerful and strong... But sometimes why do You take so long to appear? Where were You in my weakest times? Where were You when I was scolded by my parents? Where were you when I was lying down on my bed, sick, tired and feeling pain all over? Where were you in the midst of my exams, when I'm feeling so stressed?'

It's never wrong to have thoughts like that, personally I've thoughts like these too once in awhile! I remember there was once I was badly slandered by my brother's friends infront of my family while it was dinner time. Everything was going fine... We were having fun, talking, laughing, eating good food and basically everything was great! Even my brother's friends were enjoying themselves! Until my Dad had to ask me this question, 'So how's your church building coming along? I heard from the news that your that Pastor Kong is building a new church again?'

Once I hear this I knew it, it was time for VOLCANO ERUPTION LIAO. Surely my Mum will start asking, my brother will also start saying about our church being a 'cheat money' church. I knew that there was a battle ahead for me to fight.. And I was afraid. I was so afraid. Because my brother's friends are around and I cannot afford to raise my voice or try to be too self-centred. I had to learn how to handle it well, but I didn't know how!

I asked God to please show up. Please make my parents STOP talking about it. But.. God didn't show up.

In the end, I was totally slammed by every single one sitting at the dinner table. Including my brother's 2 friends. They were saying really nasty things like, 'Why are you attending a church like that?', 'Why is your church so commercialized?', 'Why Pst Kong nowadays look like Ah Beng ah??', 'How much are you giving to the church?'... and the list goes on. It was just so heart piercing and hurtful to see my own parents embarrassing me infront of outsiders.

I remember.... I goggled down my food and faster go into the kitchen. I had to admit, I had no courage, I had no boldness, I didn't know what to do or say. I was suddenly dumbfounded. The worst thing is, my Mum came into the kitchen and saw tears in my eyes. Instead of comforting me, she said, 'Aren't we right? Do the church need such a big and grand building to worship God? God is everywhere, whether it is an old, small or new, big church, GOD IS EVERYWHERE.'

That was the ultimate.. I couldn't understand why was this happening.. In my weakest times, she still had to rub the salt into the wound.

That night, everyone knew that I cried. My Dad, Mum, Brother and 2 of his friends. But none of them came to apologize, none of them came to explain themselves, none of them came to tell me that hey, it's alright. We were just talking casually about it just now. I only had myself to face. Myself and God.

I remember that night when I showered, I stayed so long in the washroom.. I just kept crying and crying. Hitting myself for being so useless.. Asking God why is this happening.. Where is He?

WHERE ARE YOU, GOD?

The reason why I remember every detail so clearly is because it was one of those incidents that I was very hurt. And I felt so slammed in the face by my own Dad and Mum. Well, I am not blaming them because I know that, in these times, we'd surely go through trials and tribulations.

Yet I ask myself again... But why didn't God show up that night?

I slowly found the answer to my own question, and it is very simple.

It is because I found my strength through my weakness.
I found my courage through my fear.
I found my boldness through my insecurities after what happened.

God is not just a God who provides you with answers, but He is a God that provides you with solutions.

So what if God appeared that night? So what if my parents stopped talking about it that night? Would it make me stronger? Would it make me bolder?

No it doesn't.. My dear friends, God does things with a foresight in mind. He sees the future, He doesn't see the present. He is not a short-term God, He is a long-term God.

Sometimes I look back and ask myself, How have I become so strong? Even until now when my parents persecute or scold me, why do I not get upset over it like the past?

Because my God is Mighty To Save. He doesn't just answer... He Saves!

Ask yourself today, which situations in your life.. or anything that you would like to overcome/change/come up to the next level? Look up and seek God my friends, for He will never fail you.

In a whole midst of being busy, there is never an excuse to say that 'I cannot do my quiet time.'

It's really a time of renewal I had with God just now as I settled my heart to really seek His face. And not just His hands. He can do a lot for you, bless you, answer all your prayers.. But, when the veil is torn, do you still seek His hands? Or face?

People say, How do you know that it is God?

What I experienced was just a glimpse of it, because He is much bigger than that. I was just strumming the guitar...worshipping Him. It didn't took a long time until I started to tear. Honestly, it isn't about the time. It is about the quality.

Suddenly, I was all alone with God. I was ignorant to everything around me. The kids playing at the playground downstairs, the fan that was screeching, the walking foot steps of my brother outside the room...suddenly became mediums for me to focus even more on His presence and to tap into the supernatural.

I remember on Sunday, Jermain told me about the SOT students. About laying of hands. Honestly to me, laying of hands is something very sacred. And something that cannot be taught, it is really by faith that I lay hands on the members. But he was telling me that Pst Ming taught them how to. And I tried.... Jermain said Pst Ming asked them to... Wait, draw, store, touch.

So I Waited..His presence..Drew it into my spirit men.. Store......... Until He said, "Now, Touch."

I looked around, and saw nobody. Who am I going to lay hands on?

"You."

I did what He said and...... It was crazy..... I only used one hand on my head. Then God said, 'The other hand...' And I placed it on my chest. And I fell. This is the ability to pray, and empower. Yourself.

Then.. I talked to Him. Cried out to Him. Closed my eyes and said.. "Lord, I want to seek Your face, I want to know Your name. When I open my eyes, will I see Your face? You said ask and I shall receive, now I ask in faith, will I see Your face?"
I prayed this prayer because I remember in a worship song by Brooke Fraser, she prayed this.. "Let's just wait upon Him for a second...Come to us Lord, You reward those who earnestly dilligently seek you, I wanna see your face, I wanna know your ways. Come to us Lord.."

And then, she started to sing the worship song, which was tremendously awesome. She had that amount of faith..which was incredible.

I know if she can do it, I could too. Honestly deep in my heart..I dont know what to expect when I open my eyes......

But when I did, I saw nothing.... As I slowly look up out my window which was just infront of me..there were trees, blue sky and birds. And He said

'Everything you see, is Me. You don't need to see Me to know that I exist.'My heart shook and I started to weep.

He opened not just my eyes, but my ears. He reminded me of Mark 8:29

He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?"
Peter answered and said to Him, "You are the Christ."This. really impacted me. It was such a word in season..it's like fresh manna although we hear this verse all the time..

I prayed a last prayer. That was from my heart.. And knew that everything was going to be fine.

I went back to keep the guitar, sit on my desk and type this. Knowing that it was like a dream just now, and I'm back in reality right now at this moment.

But now, it isn't about "Face Reality, Life Sucks anyway'

It is, about bringing the dream I had to fulfill Reality to its fullest.

If God can do this for me, He can do this for you.

Hi guys!

I'm sure all of you are learning a lot from the series Pst Kong has been talking about, Prayer of Jabez. It's really an amazing sermon which we should really abide, although we may feel, 'Aiya.. Prayer again..Worship again..Spiritual things again'. But hey, don't forget, this is how City Harvest Church started.

And SO! We're going to apply what we've learnt in church to our each of our lives. Every week, we will have people going to Powerhouse, which I mentioned yesterday. And also, we will have people praying EVERYDAY! Here is the plan:

Tuesday - Jonathan, Leslie, Lixin, Andrew, Kenny, Joyce
Wednesday - Yingua, Yiqin, Yuenleng, Jiajun, Meiling

The timing of the prayer can be anytime, but do keep to the days. So what to pray for????

2. Church - Growth, spirituality level and tangible atmosphere
3. CG - Growth, renewal in each one of our lives, stronger spiritual life, more unity & love
4. Each one of you should pray for 1 particular friend you're reaching out for

Each one of us should take turns to pray. Not just one/two person. Let's really bite the bullet and bash it through, if God is for us, no one can be against us!

Let us be like a deer longing for water, that your soul yearns for Him. And only God can fill our deep hunger. Let our hearts burn for Him.

Time Management!!

Okay.. Just let me be the bad guy for a moment alright.. Bare with me, and I hope you guys will learn smth out of it.. I'm gonna build on the issue on LATENESS.. Something I felt that is a problem in the cell grp. Just think thru for a moment, you guys might just agree. One question I would like to post to you guys.. Why can't we always start the cell grp meeting on time or to meet at the expected time?

You guys gotta know that Time is a common yet very precious commodity for humans. Every sec that past can never be reversed and or to pay back. Every sec you wasted, meaning one sec of life had been wasted. Perhaps you guys had never thought about it in this way, but I really hope after this post you guys will have a renewed mindset. I think the problem why people are always late is because they failed to have a good sense of time management. Time management is a big issue in commercial world which is the marketplace! Many things, business, deals build or break because of it. Just being late, will cost you your very job in future! Okay, just wanna bring it into Cg term. Let me be very frank. If you guys are always late, how can we have a cg that starts on time? or to meet at the expected time and go book good seats for cg(ps: you cannot always count on the few members that are faithfully helping to book the seats, and give yourself an excuse to be late!)?

Okay, I'm gonna go into the issue called the accountability for being late. So what have lateness got to be relate to accountability? Okay let me say that by having this in your life will help you make the life of the helpers and the CGL easier and saving their phone bills, speaking of being a blessing to the leaders. Why? If we can all initiate to inform the leaders of where we are or what time are we gonna reach, we can start the meeting earlier while waiting for you to come (it's fair as you are late right?). One thing i noted from every CGM is that we are always waiting for members to reach before we can start the CGM. And this waits are always very long, sometime more than an hour? I think that it's quite unfair to those who make a effort to reach on time or even early. I'm not against those who had things on before hand that will cause them to be late, I'm more concerned for those who are constantly late for no particular reasons.

Alright, so what does it mean to be accountable when being late.
So here's a case study: So it happen that you are late because you ended sch late, what should you do? Dun wait for Cheryl or yinghua or the helpers to call or sms you to check where are you. You sms them FIRST telling them where are you and the reason why you are going to be late and then what time will you reach! This build accountability. At least they know what's happening and able to continue to plan what to do next. It ease their life, trust me i know it does. And the last thing we wanna see is that a certain member who is late, being happily late, refused to tell the leaders, and Dun pick up call, dun reply sms. And then happily appear at the meeting after one hour of lateness, not knowing he/she wasted 1 hour of the members time. (opps, is this situation very familar? haha)
Okay here's a tip on what to do when you are struck in a situation when you feel that you gonna be late, no matter will you really be late or not, just sms YH, JJ or cheryl.

Let me start talking about Time Management. Ok, this is very tough topic to handle as it defers from one to another. For this, i will share about how I manage my time, and how I can always be early not not late.. Okay, I'm a very time conscious guy, which i think everyone such be. As time is too precious to be wasted, and it's worst wasting the time of another person. This is what i do every time when i got to go meet up with someone or to go to a meeting be it cgm or service. Let's say the Cg meeting is at 5pm. And I will start planning, for me i need at least 1 hour(over-estimated) to wash up and dress up. And I will estimate how long to go to the place (this include walking time, bus buffer time, and the trip. Normally what ppl does is that they only think about the duration of the trip and forget the rest, ending up being late). I normally OVER-ESTIMATES the time i need to go to the place.. So I will have grace if i reach before my estimated time, as it's always better being early than late!

Okay another thing is that, I learnt it from Pastor Ming as he shared his experience with Dr. John Avanzini. He went to fetch Dr. John at his hotel, thinking that he reached on time and he saw Dr. John already waiting for him at the lobby. When Dr. John saw him, he said to Pst Ming, "you are late!". Pst Ming was shocked, Dr. John then told him this that I stick to these 4 years, he said, "being on time means late already! 5 mins earlier is just being on time! 15 mins earlier is being early!" Even for Pst Kong, he make it a point to be at least 10-15 mins earlier, when he have a appointment with someone. I hope you guys will apply this principle into your life too, and you will see yourself always on time and not be late.

I hope this entry will be blessing to you, and hope you guys had learnt something. Sorry for the long entry though, and i tried my best to shorten it le.. My control of my language is still not there yet bah... haha.. thanks for reading thru.. =)

Hey everyone, JJ aka Jia Jun here.. haha.. I'm here to blog about some things that are in my heart..

Firstly, I wanna say a very big THANK YOU to everyone of you.. I really had a very memorable and blessed birthday last Sun.. Thanks for everyone's love and sacrifices for me, and I really really felt blessed to receive the best gift on earth from you guys. It's really very meaningful and a great blessing to my life.. I really felt the love from you guys towards me and it really touched my heart. =) And lastly, I wanna thank you for the card, it's really very nice and indeed the nicest card I ever received in my life, a special thanks to Hui Li and the guys that made the card.. Thanks for the efforts you guys put into making of the card.. And oh before i forget, thanks for all the wishes from you guys and may my God bless you guys a hundred fold of blessing of you guys to me! Okay guys.. wanna share with you what i recently encountered after reading a book.

Why do we need the Holy spirit's fresh anointing more than ever?
I'll just summarize the 7 points.

1. It is impossible to know God without the Holy Spirit.
-Eph 5:18, Rom. 8:16

2. It is impossible to know the kingdom of God without the Holy Spirit.
-Luke 17:21, Rom. 14:17

3. It is impossible to know the truth without the Holy Spirit
-John 14:26, 1 john 5:6, John 16:13

4. it is impossible to stay free from sin without the Holy Spirit.
-Rom. 8:2

5. It is impossible to pray without the Holy Spirit.
-Rom. 8:26

6. It is impossible to have faith-filled life without the Holy Spirit.
-2Cor. 5:7

7. It is impossible to live an unshakable, established Chirstian Life without the Holy Spirit.
-Eph. 3:16-17

Alright..
(1) Have you ever thought why and how you got to know God? Before accepting christ, Do you really know God? When you accepted Christ and allowed the Holy Spirit to enter you life, from that on, HE IS introducing you to God. Thats why you get to noe HIM! It's the holy spirit!

(2) Do you know that the Kingdom of God is "righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit" before you accpeted Chirst?! It's the Holy spirit!

(3) Do you know the truth that Jesus was sent to the cross 2000 years ago to die for our sin?! All the sins were punished 2000 years ago! Do you know all this and so on before you were a christian? It's the Holy spirit!

(4) The word of God declares that the Holy Spirit keeps us " free from the law of sin and death" It's the Holy Spirit again!

(5) Have you ever prayed to God before you are a Christian? Do you even noe how to pray?! It's the Holy Spirit! He led you and tought you how to pray!

(6) Do you have faith in God right now?! Who tought you the real meaning of the word FAITH?! you may say " ohh.. i only got a LITLLE faith in God" well.. isn't that called faith too?! If you have faith like a mustard seed, you CAN move mountains! It's the Holy Spirit who tought you faith!

(7) Without the Holy spirit, you simply cant stand strong for God. Coz, He is always the one leading you! you need him! It's the Holy Spirit!

Summarizing all the 7 points, YOU CANT DO ANYTHING SPIRITUAL WITHOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT.

Have you guys tought why ppl always ask, " how's your SPIRITUAL life? "
Why isn't Human nature life?!
Why isn't Godly nature life or whatever it might be.
Your SPIRITUAL life is all about your communion with the Holy Spirit! thats why its called SPIRITUAL. You communicate thru him to God. Thats What speaking of tongues are for.

Hi guys!

A very Happy Happy New Year to every single one of you out there! :)

I'm sure 2007 has been such an adventurous year for all of us, even for myself. It has been a year of many ups and downs, many victories and defeats and many joy and tears.

BUT, it was still an awesome year I had with all you guys! I'm sure you know who I'm talking about.. Haha. Just want to pen down some heartfelt words I need to say to all of you.

2007 has really been a hard year for me, but why was it still so made perfect is really because of each individual I've met in the CGs. All of you gave me the love and support I needed to keep on moving forth in not just my ministry, but also my walk with God and most of all, my life. I know that I do not spend that much time fellowshipping with all of you, especially after services in church. And that is why every cgm is so very important to me to have all of you present, so I can spend some time with you guys. I hope you understand that sometimes its really hard to get away because of meetings and all that after service. But I want you to know, each and every one of you are deeply treasured by me. I'm not sure if all of you reads this CG blog, but I hope you will feel the depth of my love for you guys as I type these out.

Jiajun: Thanks for being such an incredible person. You've been with me wherever I go, and have never let go although you face the toughest times. If not for you, W368 wouldn't have existed. It is because you bothered, you cared and you did what was right before God. I know the struggles you face sometimes, and it is not that easy to go through this walk. But, this walk will always be narrow, this walk will always lead you to the path you need to be. Continue this walk, He will see your faithfulness. Life has been made great with you around, keep on keeping on! :)

Meiling: Thanks for being who you are. Its has been a pleasure to know, befriend, love and lead you. You were one of those people who went through with me when we were still in W298, we survived it together with Jiajun and Jeryee. :) And I'm very proud of you. I know its has also been a hard year for you, but I pray you will strive to greater heights. Always bear in mind my words, keep on seeking Him, and you'll surely find. Excel in your studies, this is the best time for you to soar. Be brave, dont just fly, SOAR.

Jeryee: Thanks for being such a pillar of strength. Haha, seem surprising to you eh? Well, you were and still is a pillar of strength to me because whenever I see you, I am always inspired to move forth. You give me a sense of assurance that you will never leave God because of the love you have for Him. I know, at times you may feel dry, or even tired. But you still made the efforts to come, to love God. Especially when lately you've been more committed and begin to help out more in the CG, it warms my heart to see how you've changed and I'm very very proud of you. Continue to make a difference in another person's life, its also time for a better and larger change in your life this year, I believe it is your year of breakthroughs.

Kenny: Thanks for being such a helpful boy! Always call me and ask me weird questions sometimes...Haha, but at the end always ask me I need any help. Its great to see you offering your help more and more. Remember that God is able to move any mountains infront of you, it isnt that hard, you just have to learn to trust Him more. Faith comes by hearing and hearing from the Word of God, I'm sure you will find your assurance in the Word of God!

Jonathan: Thanks for being such a funny person! Haha.. Well its been a pleasure to know you for... 2 years now? Almost there. Its a unique beginning we had, really. And never had I imagine to see and have or the more, to lead you in my CG. Its a pleasant surprise to see how much you've grown and the committiment you're giving, sacrificing. Although we're of the same age, and even from the same FOC camp, you've always supported me in my ministry, and its awesome to see you also helping out more in the CG. I pray that you will rise up one day, to be more than who you are now. To realise that your potential is within and is waiting to be unleashed. Don't bother about the tug in your heart, when God says 'Go!', actions speaks louder than words. Change will bring you bigger breakthrough this year, I pray you will become a great man of God, being able to serve the sisters yet have a manly stature. You can do it!

Yiqin: Thanks for being such a lovely girl! I really thank you for being in my life, I know its been hard since the transfer that sometimes you struggle with the past. But, you really tried to suit in the CG and true enough with your awesome personality, everyone loves you! Haha. Keep that smile on your face, and the fervency of serving in your Spirit. Because I believe this year, as you begin to seek God more, connect with Him more, His love with soak you. As long as you open your heart, allow him to enter, He will fight for you. Keep on striving!!!

Lixin: Thanks for being such a cheerful and helpful person! Haha you're really a polite girl with a heart of gold. It has been a pleasure to have you here with us, always being a big help in the CG. Always remember that dreams are there for you to dream, but only the disciplined with accomplish their dreams. I know your fervency towards ballet dance, go towards it! Dont be afraid about what others may say, our whole CG is always behind you! Remember, He has given you not a mind of fear, but of a love and a sound mind. Be confident of yourself, allow your beautiful personality to be unleashed, you're more than a conqueror with Jesus!

Joyce: Thanks for being such a teachable girl! You're one of those members that every cgl would love to have. Haha. You're a very winsome person with a big heart. In this Xmas, you've certainly proved yourself to be an awesome evangelist! Now that the new year has come, get ready for God to really move so mightily in your life! You've to keep beliving in yourself that God can do more in your studies, remember you're the head and never the tail. Once you've made up your mind to do well, dont let anything hold you down! Jiayou!

Leslie: Thanks for being such a great great great help! Haha you've really grown so much throughout these few months, and it really makes me happy to see how much you've changed. Its really my pleasure to lead you, because you're always available and easy to contact! Haha. I'm sure that you're able to rise up as a mighty warrior of God this year as long as you make up your mind, to be more convicted in the things that you do! Year 2008 will be a different year for you, do well in your studies as much as your own life, you will see your breakthrough!

Jj: Thanks for being a cornerstone of the cg. Its been really great to see how much you've matured through this year, from a small little boy to a more thoughtful and hardworking young man. You're always there for me whenever I need help or just someone to talk to. Just by being who you're, you're already a mighty warrior of God. I really thank God for you because of the amount of efforts you put in every single little thing you do for the cg, for your ministry and the kingdom of God. Always bear in my the words I've told you, this year will be an expotential year for you, consecrete your life to Him, He will do wonderous works which you can never imagine. Keep the fire burning!

Huixian: Thanks for being such an enjoyable person. Its a pleasure to be able to work with you, and always helping out whenever you can. You've followed me through W228 to 447 and have stayed faithful in the things you're doing. I cannot express my gratitude towards you for being such a great help in the cg. Every single thought of yours, is deeply appreciated! Year 2008 is going to be a different year for you, as long as you decide it to be. There is no doubt that God has placed leadership in your, take it by force. Dont be afraid about what others may say, JUST DO IT.

Yinghua: Thanks for being such a tremendously fun, yet serious person. Haha.. You're really a member, helper yet a friend at the same time. I've seen the sacrifices you've made to be where you're today, and I'm sure it is pleasing in God's eyes. Thanks for making many sacrifices for the CG, the time, efforts and money you've sow into God's kingdom. You're truly rising up to be a great woman of God, if you want to see greater breakthroughs this year, just like Huixian, you've got to Make decisions. Make decisions that not just follow your heart, but the call of God. He will surely see your faithfuless, keep on going on. No matter what, JUST CHIONG. Remember, no matter what. :)

Yuenleng: Hello YUENLENG AH. Finally I spelt your name correctly right!! Haha. Thanks for being such a greaaaaat person. Always happy, cheerful and ready to be mould. I know 2007 has been a tough year for you in one way or another, but you've braved through the storm and standing at where you are now. You've been a really fun member to have, also helping out a lot in the cg. The amount of sacrifices you've made, is truly pleasing in God's eyes. 2008 will be a year of testing for you I believe, with times where you feel dry and tired of this walk with God. But, I'm sure you will pull through because you're a strong girl and the love of God will begin to work through you in this year. Remember, be bold and of good courage!

Joey: It is a bliss to have you in the cg, thanks for being who you are. You've really been a part of the strength in my life, always encouraging me at times and always helping out in the cg. Thank you very much for allowing us to use your house for CGM and sometimes we may end very late but you've zero complaints, I think that's just awesome. Thanks for being around in the cg and I know I whenever I need help, you'll always be there. Its been a hard year for you, I pray you will have the wisdom of God to pull you through your days in the coming 2008. I pray that this year will be a totally different year from 2007, because you deserve better than this. Jiayou! :)

Gwendolyn: Thanks for being soooo cute! Haha. You've surely proved yourself as an evangelist in this Xmass too eh!! Thanks for being so consistent in calling up your friends. Although you're young, but you're never ashame of your youth! But you really got a lot of boyfriends leh.....Haha. Wait until you're older okay? God will give a right one to you! Haha. Well, thanks to you for helping out in the cg as well. Always being the cheerful girl, bringing great joy to everyone you see! Huili: Thanks for being such a patient girl. You're really one of the cornerstone in the cg, and you really deserve a most faithful award! Haha.. Yeap, you're really a one of a kind person with an amazing talent in Artwork. Thanks for all the birthday cards you've done for all the members, we appreciate all the time and efforts you spent. Especially for the xmas cards, they look tremendous! You're really a great talent amongst us and I pray you will one day, unleash your potential and engage the marketplace! Bingzhong: Thanks for being such a humourous brother in the cg!! Haha you've surely brought many joy and laughter to my life. Thanks for having the courage to do many things in your life, although you've been busy at work, you still made the effort to come during our big day. I thank you for being who you are, a person with such a great big voice. Have some confidence in yourself, I'm sure one day you will be performing on stage! Haha. I pray that 2008 will be a year of prosperity and abundance for you. Remember to keep on keeping on, and dont let that fighting spirit die!

Ruihua: Thanks for being such a "quick changer"! Haha. You're such a teachable and mouldable person, truly someone any cgl who love to have! You're an inspiration to many of us, because of the fervency you have for God. From a girl who dont know whether God existed, to a girl you're now who loves God with her heart. I'm sure you're able to be a great evangelist with that warmness in your soul and kindness in your personality. You're definitely able to do more than you're doing now, so keep believing in yourself and move forth! 2008 will be a year of bigger breakthroughs! Dont be surprised how much God will pour out on you! ;)

Clarissa: Haha, okay have no idea if clar would ever come across our cg blog, but thanks for being a strong person. I know how far you've come and is still trying to keep up, you've been a lovely person. Haha although on the outside maybe ABIT chor lor right, but I know on the inside of you, the personality you carry is filled with love and compassion for others. I pray you will come to realise your major decisions you will come to make in your life, and ask God for that tremendous strength you need. I pray you become a clarissa with a winsome attitude, a stronger heart and may this year be a year of Change for you. Jiayou!

Verona: My dear verona.. Lol. Thanks for being such a lovely girl really. You're also one of the reasons why I'm still where I am today, it is because of your encouragement and calls that made me know my vocation. Its been great to serve and know you not just as a member but a great friend. God sees your sacrifices and He will surely repay. Year 2008 will be a great one for you as you will be joining an adult cell group this year, and I pray you will lift up your spirits to greater heights. You can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens you!

Haha, hope I've not missed out anyone. And that everyone will come to read their own sections. DO tell your fellow members okay! :) Well yes, all this are my most sincere words and thanks to all of you who have made 2007 happened for the cg, for chc, for me and for God. All of you deserve great appluad for being such amazing members! I'm sure God has greater plans in store for the CG, as His ways are always higher than our ways.

MIRACLE XMAS!

Dear all,

A very early greeting from SC this year, MERRY CHRISTMAS! :)

This year has been an exciting year with all of you wonderful people, and there were also many transitions in both the CG. Well, I believe God is a God of new things and His thoughts are always higher than ours. Whatever has happened in 2007 is definitely His greater plan! And I'm so proud of every single one of you who has moved with us to Jurong West Church! :) I know it came as quite a surprise, but all of you were flexible and willing to move to this miracle building! I thank God for such great members like all of you, I could never ask for more. :)

BUT WAIT, the year has not ended without...... CHRISTMAS!

I'm sure this Christmas will be very different because of the radical move by all of us back to JW church, and at the same time its the first English Christmas Service we're going to have in JW church in this coming close to 2 years!

Remember that day in CGM we pledged the friends, and you guys took a step of faith and lift up the number of friends after which wrote in a paper? Well, the total number of friends amounted to a great number of...

150 FRIENDS!

I mean guys, you're phenomenal! Let us use this mountain moving faith to allow God to work through us.

The Bible says, the harvest is plentiful but the labourers are few. Being a labourer of God isn't just calling up your friends one by one and confirm them. Being a labourer, is to pray & fast. Seek God for a revelation of how to ask your friends with wisdom, that when you speak, you exalt the name of Jesus. The Word of God says, 'When the name of Jesus is lifted up, ALL men will be drawn.'

And after calling up, follow through your friends, they are YOUR harvest. YOUR portion which God has poured out to you! Being a labourer of His fields is not a process nor a routine, it is your heart and attitude. Well, yes your mind and flesh may fail you many times, but God will never fail you.

Guys, this Christmas 2007 is our last lap to see a revivial in both CGs once more.

Will you, be a labourer of a 120 people field and run this lap to see a miracle this Christmas?

Hi,
Was on the way back home from work. Chatting with a philippine staff. Shared with her how our church and singapore celebrate Christmas. So after she went home, i took out bible, and came by this book of Haggai. As i read on, i found some interesting verses. So i think it'll be good if i share.

Haggai 1

2 “Thus speaks the LORD of hosts, saying: ‘This people says, “The time has not come, the time that the LORD’s house should be built.”’”
3 Then the word of the LORD came by Haggai the prophet, saying, 4 “Is it time for you yourselves to dwell in your paneled houses, and this temple to lie in ruins?” 5 Now therefore, thus says the LORD of hosts: “Consider your ways!
6 “ You have sown much, and bring in little;
You eat, but do not have enough;
You drink, but you are not filled with drink;
You clothe yourselves, but no one is warm;
And he who earns wages,
Earns wages to put into a bag with holes.”

Arise and lay down this sacrifice

Hi guys, its been awhile! And I believe all of you now are having your exams.. Keep studying alright, I'm sure you will do just fine! :)

Well, Arise & Build is coming very soon and already this week is our vision weekend. I remember the first Arise & Build I had, it was really a heart wrenching yet memorial one. I remember that I was only in church for about one month plus and I was really shocked at the Arise & Build because I had no idea what was it about, and neither have I done it in my old church.

I hear other members talking about this Arise & Build, telling me about how exciting it was going to be, that during this time, there is sure to be lots of encounters and blessings! Also I remember Pst Kong preached during one of the services that really inspired me to do something for our church building.

During the vision weekend, I started to ask God for an amount and really prayed for something that I can fulfill. I remember I had an amount before vision weekend, but during the exact weekend itself, I hear many other members pledging really above and beyond their abilities. And even my leader challenged me to give more than I could to God.. I was very scared and didn't know what to do but I still entered the service. That night, God spoked to me an amount that really beyond my means. I was just a secondary 3 student then, I had nothing but $5 a day. And I really doubted God, and told Him that, 'Hey God.. I'm only a student leh..' But I remember so vividly, that God assured me that night by reminding me about what Pst Kong said during service, 'Where your heart is, there your treasure will be also.' Whatever that was precious to me will be precious to God, and He will never shortchange my precious. So that night, I wrote down the amount God wanted me to give and really know the meaning of this phrase,

'I will not do something that costs me nothing.'

Those days back then was really tough. I remember how I was going through such warfare physically and spiritually, so many times I wanted to give up my walk with God. And even during recess time, I will not eat sometimes. And my friends would make fun of me saying, 'Why? Giving to the church again ah... No use one lah..' It was really a hard time in my family too. I felt really downcasted as I didn't even have enough money to have proper meals. I remember it was also when I got my first job as a surveyor and how tiring it was to study and work at the same time. But really, God's strength is incredible, it was Him who kept me through and stood by me; never leaving for forsaking me. Although it was a time of tiredness, it was also a time of many encounters that truly encouraged me. It was also the period of time where I grew spiritually stronger in the Lord and also received many blessings! I remember my mother would sometimes bless me $50 in a day and that really helped me alot in my Arise & Build. Truly, even in the weakest time, God will always find a way for me.

I managed to fulfill my building fund and after that time, I always look forward to all the other building fund because I know it is going to be a time of renewal. Truly, to me Arise & Build speaks of 2 things:

1. Sacrifice

Your ability to sacrifice is the reflection of how much you're willing to lay down your life for God. Does the amount that you're going to contribute an amount that touches your heart? Does the amount enable you to step out of your comfort zone? It is called sacrifice for a reason. Are you willing to say to your friends, 'No, I need to save for my church's building fund' when they ask you out for a movie? Are you willing to understand this, 'Others can, but I can't' during this season of Arise & build? Even in the hardest time, do you still continue to sacrifice your time and efforts? Because if you do, I'm sure God will find a way.

2. Obedience

Remember I mentioned earlier that I doubted God's voice of the amount He wanted me to pledge? I find it so hard to obey Him because I know that having $5 a day is already quite hard enough. But truly, when I look back now, I realise that if I hadn't increase the amount, I'd have regretted till today. Your ability to obey is a reflection of how much you're willing to lay down your pride before God. As the book of Genesis mentioned, Abraham obeyed God's voice to sacrifice his ONLY son, Issac as a living sacrifice. But God stopped him and truly is pleased at Abraham's obedience and that is why He declared, 'Blessings I will bless you, Multiplying I will multiply you'. Obedience comes with pain, I can assure you that in the season of Arise & Build, you will hear two voices, very distinct voices. One from the devil and one from the Almighty. Which will you choose to listen - one that leads you a shortcut yet destruction, or one that requires a longer and tough path yet leads to fulfillment?

Pst Kong mentioned in last week's service, 'If we give, we make sure we give our best.' We're not church here to match your standards but we're a church that is here to meet God's standards.

It all started one fine night, and the subsequent (:

One night, i was finding a place to do my QT. And because it was a weekday, my sis had to turn in early for school the next morning, which also means, i've got nowhere to do my QT. So, i decided to do my QT somewhere near the steps. After all, God will appear anywhere if you wait upon Him. So i began to lift up my hands. Then suddenly, i felt that the Holy Spirit wanted me to kneel. And i did.
I prayed in Tongues, sang in Tongues, a new love song. Never underestimate the power of Tongues. Because as easy as it may seem, it's a POWERFUL weapon. Personally for me, singing in Tongues really draws me nearer to God. I used to think that, "huh cannot la. sing in tongues, i cannot sia. very awful. i don't know how". Then i learnt to allow the Holy Spirit to lead me, to guide. And it all comes natural. Furthermore, whatever you sing wholeheartedly, even a croak, will turn into a melody that brings forth a sweet aroma to His throne, right? (:

Tears began to well in my eyes. I cried out to Him. Pouring out every problems that were distracting me. Confessed all the sins that i've committed. For the past few weeks, i sense dryness in my walk with God. Probably because of the unconfessed sins. Which really makes me realise that actually it was a barrier disallowing me to dwell in His presence. And ever since, i was tormented by this, spiritually and physically. But that night, i felt free. No longer ashame. Again, if we kept focusing on the mistakes that we have commited in the past, how is it able that we'll see what lies ahead of us?

It was a really sweet night with my God. Since then, it revived the love i have for my God, my Lord. He never fails, when i'm faithless, He'll be faithful.
I used to think.. spending more than 15minutes in my QT is really difficult. But now, time just moves swiftly when i indulge myself with His love, His presence. Spending just 15mintues is too much of a task.

It's not a routine nor a chore, but a passion [:

Started off my day in a good way. I used wad i've learnt during the meeting with pst. he said that wadever we learnt in school have got to do "Godly" things. or rather in a spiritual realm. so this came to me when i was having my DnT lesson. today's DnT lesson was quite special i should say. it was half a practical and theory. a mixture. well planned by the teachers i should say :D teacher started off with showing us how to cut thick metals like mild steel with machines. it was interesting. the machine grabbing hold of the steel will turn when the machine is on. and there's this sharp object which can cut steels. so when its on. we'll adjust the sharp object near the steel. and it'll cut. coz the machine which is grabbing the steel will turn. the finish product is very very nice!. its like a new steel formed! it may sound really complicated. but to make it easier. its just explaining that. just one object is turning. and another moves near it. it'll cut. that brings me a revelation. that. when we choose to turn on ourself, then can we start cutting our unclean part away. once we start turning. then will God adjust himself closer to us. cutting our unclean parts away. forming us anew once again. with better shapes. so while the lesson was going on. Mr Tan came and said. principle wants to see our DnT teacher(Mr Lim). Lim said back, "tell her im not free now. im having lesson. nobody interrupts my lesson!" saying this to the principle?! Well it may sound rude. but its the focusing on the task which really impressed me. that brought me to another revelation. When we're having a time God. nothing should interrupt us. the focus and discipline got to be really built. no matter how important the thing is. i believe. God still come first. Coz nth in this world is more impt than our heavenly Father rite? his the creator of this world. so when you're communicating with him, i believe he'll make things peaceful for you right?

Special encounter with God

This may be the one of the bext of the encounters i have with God.

It happened ytd night. before that, i was temtped to play my psp before having my QT. but i felt that i need to build my discipline. when i was abt to enter my room to pray. i suddenly felt that it wasn't the right place. as my grandma was sleeping inside. and God says he longs intimacy with us. and the only way to get it is to be alone in the room. thats how couples get their intimacy. so i went into my mum's room to pray coz she was watching some dramas which will last quite long. i started off reading some notes i took down on tuesday's PM. after reading. i planned to pray in tongues for abt 5-10mins to build up the atmosphere. just when i start to pray. something hit me! it was the attack from the devil. i just cant close my eyes. once i do so. images of evil spirits will just start to interrupt me. i just dunno why. its so scary. despite that, i continued speaking in tongues. hoping that God will overcome my fear. soon after that. those images went off. and i started to sing in tongues. and those images hit me again! its worse than before. it was another totally new experience. i know that this time with God is gonna be great. so devil is trying to weaken me and bring me out of that room. but i sood firm. continued singing in tongues. praise God that those images went away. not long after. my hands started to shake. and i felt the "electric feeling" on my palms. and my left wrist started to get the warm feeling. that time i was forming my hand as a shape of bowl like wad Pst Kong always does. but Holy spirit prompted me to leave up my hand. so i did. and my hands started to shake more. but the devil struck again. he's trying really hard to make me lose my concentration. but he failed again and again. as i was under the presence of God. everytime i "kick" the devil away. i'll start to feel more. this time, despite all those temptation. i still did what i should do. and my left hand started to have a feeling. a feeling like there's something pushing. so my hand just went left and right. a strong feeling of like fren pushing my hand. but i know that its God's anointing. not long after, my both hands started to shake real intensely. even my parent's queen size bed have the "eek eek" sound. the "electric feeling" on my palms got stronger and stronger. it stopped for awhile. and i was catching my breathe by that time. after that, the same thing happened again. this time, more intense than before. i was really trying hard to catch my breathe and speaking in tongues at the same time. then it stopped. the images came again. i prayed even stronger this time. as it got worse than before. suddenly. i felt that my whole body is struggling. the feeling i had 2 years ago during the deliverance svc. i started to cough and cough. and i know that the devil is struggling. my whole body got very worn out as the devil continued struggling under the powerful anionting of God. soon tears just rolled down. its out of sadness. and i know that. the devil inside me is really struggling and struggling. after that, i felt a strong feeling. images after images i saw minutes ago. just "flew" thru my mind. and its like. one by one. flying out. i felt so so so relaxed after that. by faith, i know that the devil had been delivered. i tot it would be the right time to give thanks and start to pray. but Holy Spirit just asked me to continue worshipping in tongues. so i followed. and this is the great think that happened. while my eyes was closed.(when your eyes are closed. its like total darkness right?) there's a EXTREMELY BRIGHT light while my eyes was still closed. its like when you're staring at the sun. its just SUPER BRIGHT. i was tempted to open my eyes, but i now its something from god. so i continued singing in tongues. and all of a sudden... i just stopped singing in tongues. a new tongues just flew out from my mouth. at first i was mumbling with those tongues. i was so shocked by it. and i started singing with the new developed tongue. there's just a great anointing! and i recieved a word form God. its like face to face conversation. he said : " I wann you to develope this new tongue i have given to you." after this saying, the bright light dimmed off. after those encounters.. thinking that it was only abt 20 mins. but its almost 1hour! wad a great heavenly experience!

i just felt the difference. the difference between when you are somehow forced to pray and thinking that its a blessing to communicate with God.

forced to pray (negative) : when you prayed and prayed. and you tot is very long already. so you ended the prayer. thinking it was like abt 30 mins gone. but looking at your phone. its only merely 10 mins! and while praying. you cannot concentrate, coz you're force to do prayer. and you will start yawning away. getting nth out of the QT.

Willing heart (positive) : when you just stay and enjoy his presence. thinking that its a privilage to have a opportuninty to communicate with God. when you end your prayer. thinking that maybe its only abt 20 mins. but.... you've actually stayed under his presence for almost an hour! hearing His word. enjoying his magnificent presence and getting miracles. getting loads from you QT.

That's the difference i realised.

So.. Which one will you choose. i believe its up to your own attitude and discipline. all the best guys! :D:D:D

Water Baptism

I really want to thank God that the breakthru is finally here. for the past years being a christian, i've been only helping to support member's baptism. i 've been always telling myself that next baptism is going to be my turn. but i never stepped out of my comfort zone. everytime i'll tell myself that it's almost impossible. but this time. i felt that the time has come. i really stretched myself and stepped out of my comfort zone. i'll wait til late night for my father's permisson as he will work til very late. but i wont think abt the negative. like eg. not having enough sleep next morning. coz i'll wait til like 2 plus. but the faith inside me really motivates me on to wait. i've been praying and praying for it. coz time is really running out quick. but i never failed to continue trusting God for this breakthru! indeed God will never show up too early or too late. He'll come on time. everything went so well in the end! i believe why God doesn't show too early is coz he wants to test my faith! thank God that i passed it:) and i believe there's more breakthru yet to come:D praise the Lord!!!:D:D

hello! it's Thursday & Saturday is approaching soon.
seriously, the week pass very fast.
Dr. Joyce Meyer came last weekend & we had Dr. Joshua Hong during Tuesday's PM as well.
this two powerful preaching preached a word which evolve our everyday life.

Dr.Joyce Meyer preached about ceasing the moment.
always rmb that you should not waste today for tomorrow.
Matthew 6:34 ( NIV ) says :
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
we have to cease every moment in our lives, we cant afford to miss any opportunity God has for us.
which simply means, we've to cease every minute of our everyday.
in our daily life, we should let it be fruitful & enjoyable.
for we are call to be fruitful & multiply.
bible says, " and you shall rejoice before the Lord your God for seven days"
our life is yet a precious life that Christ has redeemed.
so therefore, we should rejoice in the Lord & know who we are in Christ.
we should rejoice becos we have Christ in us, but others dont.
shouldnt we be more fruitful & more happy compared to non-christian?
Dr. JM also mention this, Christian should never be bored or miserable.
yes, Christian life is never a bed of roses.
but shouldnt we have a rejoicing heart to face all the problems?
Rev. Phil Pringle said, we must understand that in the midst of all the circumstances we're facing or going through, it is for the glory of God. God is not here to destroy us, but God is here to mould us, to strengthen us through all the circumstances.
1 Cor 1 : 9 ( AMP ) :
"God is faithful (reliable, trustworthy, and therefore ever true to His promise, and He can be depended on) by Him you were called into companionship and participation with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord."
we should then feel honor that we are called to fellowship with Christ.

both Rev. Phil & Dr. JM mention that FAITH is important.
Faith can break the bondage of circumstances in our lives!
in every area of our lives, we require faith.
so people, have faith & be passionate about what you're going through and doing.
at the end of the day, you are the one who benefits everything. :))
1 Cor 1 : 8 ( AMP ) :
"And He will establish you to the end [keep you steadfast, give you strength, and guarantee your vindication; He will be your warrant against all accusation or indictment so that you will be guiltless and irreproachable in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ."

PM was tremendous.
Dr. Joshua Hong spoke a prophetic word to the church.
& he also shared the golden lamp & the olive trees.

And he shall bring forth the capstone
With shouts of "Grace, grace to it! "
in NIV version ;
"What are you, O mighty mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become level ground. Then he will bring out the capstone to shouts of 'God bless it! God bless it!' "

i was reading the book of Corinthians yesterday and it made me realise alot of things.
& in Chapter 2, it talks about Spiritual Wisdom.
and it somehow brought me to what Dr. Joshua preached about.
esp when he emphasized the word " Spirit "
it somehow or rather made me realised that without the Spirit of God, we cannot do anything.
but by the power of the Spirit, we are able to do supernatural, extraordinary things for God.
if we only rely on our own power & might, we cannot conquer anything.
For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.
Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.
that through the spirit, we will understand what is God's will for our lives.
through the spirit, we know what is in God's mind.
through the spirit, we have the ability to discern, speak with wisdom & pray..
through the spirit, we will discover, perform and exercise our spiritual gifts that God has given to us.
so in order to have all these, we have to constantly build up our spirit man.
yes, our flesh is strong but our spirit man has got to be stronger than our flesh.
if our flesh is so strong, we will not be able to hear what God is trying to speak to us daily.
we've to constantly crucify our flesh.
again, having the spirit man benefits you also.

so guys, lets start to build up our Spirit man!
learn to mediate, confess and proclaim the promises of God in our lives.

let's build a strong foundation in our spiritual life.
whatever may comes your way, speak it, cast it & go over it.
become stronger than before, & reign with Christ!
let the light of Christ shines in us, that others may see Christ in us.
rmb, we are called to be a cultural mandate & a disciple of Christ.
& yea, let's rejoice because we have CHRIST in us!
i'm thankful that by the grace & mercy of God, im saved.
or not , i will not be who i am now.

but most importantly, we should not lose the fire, passion & first love for God.
get it back if you have lost it.
God is everywhere, everytime.
He doesnt forsakes, nor leave you.
God is there and here for YOU!

Very well done, some annoucements to make as there's no CGM this week:

2. Jason Jiang, is going for his water baptism! Well, he will share about his water baptism experience with you guys. Its a great testimony! Congrats JJ! :D

3. I will be collecting the personal spiritual journal this week, Saturday. So please make sure you jot your notes down, remember, faithfulness is fruitfulness. Be faithful in the little things that you do, I'm sure God will prosper your ways.

4. This week there are several people having exams including myself, Jonathan, Leslie, Joey, Jj, Meiling, Yuan Leng...and alot more. So do pray for all of us, lets go above and beyong our targets. :)

Guys, its time you start to grasp the Word of God. It is the sword of our Spirit, and its the only tool for us to face in times of discouragements. Some of you may say that you've read the whole Bible before, but fresh manna doesn't come with the 'Bible you read before'. Fresh manna comes only when you've a renewal of passion for the Bible. I'm sure Pst. Kong has read the Bible several times before, and if Pst. Kong can do it, why can't we? Currently, I'm reading about Issac, in the Book of Genesis. Well, I'm starting from scratch as well. It doesn't matter where you start from though, the question is, Are you able to spend just 1 out of 24 hours for God?

I've always believed, if you sow a 5 minutes quiet time, you'll reap a 5 minutes blessing. Well after all, what you sow is what you reap.

Let's really follow our spiritual timetable and move forth with the Lord. Remember, there is no such thing as spectator Christian.

Hey guys! :D And so the week is over and i'm sure that all of us are blessed with the sermon that Rev. A. R. Benard has shared with us on Saturday. If you didn't catch Sunday's service, go watch it at the video sermons at CHC website. It's really amazing. (:

Continuing from Rev. A. R. Benard and SC:

On Saturday we learnt that, having been re-born, we have the ability to do the intended purpose that God has given to Man: to be fruitful and multiply (Genesis 1:28). Also, we have the LIFE inside of us: the Spirit of God and the Moral Law, to help keep us in check that we do not fall to be like the world.

However, having the ability and the Life inside of us, does not mean that we will not be tempted by the devil. When we go into the world, we will definitely be tempted to adapt to the world's value system. For example, if you were a business man, and see other business man in success because they cheat their customers, you'll be thinking, "Eh, they cheat and they get the money. Why not i cheat a little? Just a little mah.. God will be happy that i prosper right?"

That's how Christians get sucked into the world, by setting down their defense. By allowing the value systems of the world into their lives.

And so the ONLY way you fight the temptations is Spiritual Discipline.

Spiritual Discipline consists of 7 points:

1. Consistant praying (in tongues and understanding)

2. Consistant reading of the Bible

3. Bible Study

4. Fasting

5. Thanksgiving
- The reason why Christians in the world fall is because they grow discontented. Lust and greed does not take a grateful and thanksgiving heart because you are truly thankful of what God has given to you.

6. Solitude with the Lord (Quiet time)
- It is important to have solitude with God, just as how Jesus would go into the Garden of Gethsemane, to have solitude with God. (Matt 26:36-44) Quiet time is where you draw closer to God.

7. Repentance and Forgiveness (confession)
- In Proverbs 28:13 it says "He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy." When you confess your sins, you're taking ownership of it, and only then can God come and cleanse and heal you.

There can be success without God, but they will only be natural success, not supernatural success. When the people in the world go on in their lives feeling empty and dis-satisfied, we know and we know and we know the only key that can unlock the door to their empty hearts is none other than Jesus. So why are you looking at the people in the world with envy? You've got someone who promises you He'll always be right beside you, cheering you on. You've got someone who promises you supernatural success.

All you need to do is to go to your room, close your door and begin to walk beside Him.

In James 4:8 it says "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you."

Hi guys,

You guys have the access to this blog lah, haiyo. Not only me. So, all of you can jot down what you want to share, your revelations, your thoughts and of course, what you've to offer. :)

This week Dr. AR Bernard shared with us a message that is like a continuation from where he ended the last time he came, and I thought it was an awesome service. His purpose of sharing this with us to to put it across that, even if we want to engage culture, we shouldnt compromise our convictions.

The "Zoe Life" in us is something that is so precious, well for me, its something that enables me to propel even when I'm at my lowest. Everyone of us have our weakest times, and there's nothing wrong about that, because we're all imperfect people. But being imperfect doesn't give us an excuse to give up our highest calling. Nobody can understand "Zoe Life" until they have experience it. It's a Life that keeps me positive, moving on, in peace and in His joy. It's a Life that gives me strength. It is a Life that Adam lose at the beginning of mankind, it is a Life that God came to restore and renew.

What is "Zoe Life" to you?

Our conviction can be so good, that we can do something bigger than ourselves and outgrow ourselves. But don't forget, our conviction can too be so GREAT, that we can do something not just bigger than ourselves but in the same measure as God's capacity. It's a choice, how convicted you can be. At the same time, you'd want to engage culture. In many ways, being a top student, being a young entrepreneur, being a top Art student, being a President in your CCA and all sorts. Praise God for that! We should bring the moral standards of God and the presence of the Holy Spirit into these places. But one thing that people tend to forget, is that they become so indulged in being in culture and compromise their convictions. Don't forget, it is moral laws WITH presence of God, it is CHRIST in culture, not YOU in culture.

Dr. AR Bernard left with this verse that impacted me, I looked up the NLT version,

2 Cor 4:8-9
We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed.

See that in EVERY single valley, the next line, there is always a 'But God will save'. You need to believe, you need to trust and you need to cry out.

Because, that's all that matters to God.

In this world we live in, there are many things which we are well aware of. Things that we know cannot be withheld back, for instance natural disasters like tsunami and such.

But in this lifetime, there are in fact more things we are in control of than compared to things we are not in control of.

We're in control of the words that we speak. Your word frame your world, it can bring you either negativity or positivy. There is no lukewarm, if we want to be lukewarm what for we call ourselves Christians? Jesus said in the book of Revelations that if we're lukewarm, He will spit us out of His mouth. Words that you say can make or break a person; either you build up or destroy a person. Be very careful of the words you speak to your fellow members in the cell group, not saying that you have to be very cautious of the words you speak but pronouce those that Builds up, that Esteems and brings us back to the start of why we are a cell group.

Another thing we are in control is the thoughts of our mind. What we think is what we do. What we vision is what the result will be. It is essential and crucial to know that the thoughts we think will always reflect our lives. The Word of God says that His ways are higher than our ways, the thoughts He think is higher than ours. So, in whatever you do, seek God. Seek His answer, let Him show you the way. The thoughts of our mind is the desires of our hearts. Are your desires right? Are your thoughts right?

We're very much in control of the actions we portray. Pst Kong preached about Righteousness. The actions we do have to be righteous not just in the eyes of God, but even ourselves. If we do something and we know it is against not just the kingdom, but it is already against our own conscience, I believe there is a small voice in your heart that tells you not to do it. The voice of God comes when you're still and willing to settle your heart to listen. The voice of the devil comes when you're confused, messed and unwilling to seek God. You never know how powerful your unwillingness to seek God can magnify the "devil's kingdom". And the next step is that, when you hear this still small voice from Him, knowing once and twice that it is Him. It is a decision you make, to choose to walk towards it or away. Pst Kong, Pst CK and myself cannot force you to walk the narrow path, the legs are intact to you, the walk is yours, and the decision is yours.

I'm sure many of you will feel that, "Hey this expectations are so high.. City Harvest Church has such high expectations of their members.. Cannot do this, cannot do that. Always pray lah.. Read the bible lah.. Fast lah.."

Well, this is the church of the Living God. It is a church that will not compromise the standards to match your performance, but will raise the standards to meet God's expectations. Many may feel that this place is stressful, pressurizing, not fun and maybe even full of problems.

Well, for me, it is the closest place to Heaven I could ever imagine.
